ENOUGH!

I thought about this long and hard.  I wonder what type of country we are now.  Is this what defines us as country. Hatred, racism, intolerance. It saddens me when the death of seven year old Jazmine Barnes in what appears to be a racially motivated drive by is overshadowed by a government shutdown that at its core is really about appeasing the fears of those who would remain divided in hate rather than united in love. Our supposed leader constantly stirring those fears with divisive, hate filled speech. It is time we stop pretending, stop trying not to offend, stop looking to be politically correct.  It is time we stand up, time we speak up, time we make over voices cry out with a roar. ENOUGH.  We will not let hatred rule us and we will not allow those who preach the freedom to believe they can do so.

Do not let this moment pass without showing who we can become not who we seemingly are.  Let us show the proper respect for a young life sadly taken from us to soon.

Post the name and picture of Jazmine Barnes on your Facebook timeline, your twitter account, your instagram page, whatever social media you are on. Offer your prayers and condolences to her grieving family, let them know we are with them and let us pray to the Lord to give us the strength as human beings to begin to move away from these type of tragedies.

Can You Dig It

I say the future is ours…
…if you can count!
Now, look what we have
here before us.
We’ve got the Muslims…
…sitting next to
the Jews.
We’ve got the Christians …
…right by the Atheists

The Whites up against the Blacks and the heterosexuals back to back with the homosexuals.

Nobody is wasting nobody.

That…
…is a miracle.
And miracles
is the way things ought to be.
You’re standing right now
with nine delegates from every race, nationality religion and sexual orientation
That’s over 7 and a half billion humans.
Now, put that in perspective and you’ll understand there ain’t but a handful of racist, misogynist, intolerant hate filled humans left in this whole world

Can you dig it?
Can you dig it?
Can you dig it?

Now here’s the sum total.
Unity and tolerance could run this world.
We could make it a paradise. Because we got the Earth

Can you dig it?

The problem in the past
has been those committed to hate and division turning us against one another.
We have been unable
to see the truth,
because we’ve been fighting
for 10 square feet of ground,
our turf, our little piece of turf.
That’s crap, brothers and sisters
The turf is ours by right
because it’s our turn.
All we have to do
is see the good in each other
We slowly root out the hate from each corner of the globe
Secure our territory,
secure our turf
because it’s all our turf and this Earth would be a paradise.

Can you dig it.

An Angel Walks in a Room

An angel walks in a room with a Christian who celebrates Christmas. A Jew who celebrates Hanukkah and a African American who celebrates Kwanza. The angel quickly looks around and says Happy Holidays to everyone. At that moment an individual in the corner sighs loudly. The angel turns to the man and asks is  there a problem sir?  To which the man responded well since you asked there is.  I’m  so tired of you liberals and your war on Christmas. What wrong with just saying Merry Christmas like we did in the good old days. The angel looked at the man and laughed and then politely said sir it would seem it is you and not me who is waging war on Christmas. Me? Responded the man shockingly. Yes you said the angel for on the day Jesus was born an angel like myself told all those in the manger I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. He did not identify only a selection of people to wish great joy he wished it to all. We are all God’s children and he wishes that as his children we love each other and respect each other faiths. If you choose to turn a cold shoulder to or belittle those who wish happiness to all then it is you who are soiling the true meaning of Christmas.

Power to the people Boogie to the beat

November 6, 2018 we must awaken with a single purpose:

To go to the polls and take government back from the charlatans who profess they have been elected to serve the people when the truth is they serve only themselves and the all mighty dollar.

To go to the polls and remove from the halls of government those who use hate and look to divide us so that they may expand their own power and increase their own wealth.

To go to the polls and restore what democracy truly is – The voice of the people.

On November 6, 2018 we must boogie to the new beat that is rising up in this country.

Racism based on the color of one skin fading away.

Discrimination based on one’s sexual orientation vanishing by the day

Disrespect of women no longer accepted as one of society’s dirty little norms

Bullying someone because they don’t fit neatly into a box that society claims is normal waning as we speak

Division being increasingly replaced by unity

Exclusion being increasingly replaced by inclusion

On November 6 we must rise as a people and boogie to the growing beat, that they are so desperate to shut down, and make America truly Great

The Alt-Right’s sins against the Lord.

One of the great aspects of American society is the right to free speech. No matter how hateful and divisive it is.  No matter how vile you may take the message to be it is the right of every individual or group to freely voice their opinion.

This weekend exactly one year after Unite the Right, the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, many of the same white-nationalist, paramilitary, and other right-wing groups are planning once again to come together once again — this time, in Washington, D.C.

In many ways it is a good thing that these groups are permitted to use their first amendment right  to hold these rallies as it sheds light on the vile, dangerous and disgusting message of division and hate they preach. A spotlight for the rest of America to witness and be repulsed by, hopefully forcing them to admit there is a cancer in America that needs to be removed.  Discussions about about race and social inequalities can not be swept under the rug any longer but must be confronted head on if we are ever going to move forward as a nation.

These rallies also shines a light on the sins of those individuals who preach hate. The majority of them who call themselves Christians but deny the undeniable, we are all one created in the image of our Lord.

27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. – Genesis 1:27

They presuppose that they are greater than the Lord they claim to worship.  That they have the right to determine which of the Lord’s children are worthy and which are not. A direct rejection of the Lord’s commandment to us. As is written in John  13:34:

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another

The Lord created each of us in His image  He loves each of us unconditionally  He does not play favorites based on the color of our skin or our religious beliefs.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. – Galatians 3:26-29

Since the beginning it has been the Lord’s desire for us to live together in peace an unity.

1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! – Psalms 133:1

And He warned us to avoid those who would speak differently!

17. Now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. 18. Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people. – Romans 16:17-18

So this weekend let us stand at a distance watch and expose to the world those with malice in their hearts, sinners against the Lord.

Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. – Ephesians 5:11

But as with all things with the Lord reject their beliefs but be prepared to forgive those among them who repent their sins and ask for help in finding their way back onto pthe path of spirituality.

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. – Galatians 6:1

We are all Human

Some of us are republicans some democrats and some independents. Some of us are people of color some of us are not. Some of us are heterosexual some homosexual some bisexual.  Some of us Christian some Muslim some Jewish some atheists and a hosts of other beliefs. In the end we are all American and most importantly we are all humans.

In some of us thete is often a fear of the unknown, an irrational fear that leads to isolation. Isolation leads to a lack of knowledge and understanding about those that are different from us and if history has taught us anything it is that a lack of knowledge often leads to disastrous results. It also can lead to the continuous growth of the prejudices we all have with-in us. Those prejudices are stripped away as we begin to understand those who differ from us. However for those who remain isolated those prejudices remain and can be easily stoked by people in power who do so for the goal of advancing their wealth and power. These individuals thrive on chaos and division. They speak non truths and keep the people divided against each other rather than uniting for the betterment of mankind as a whole.  They want us to be afraid of each other, they want us to hate each other, they want us to lose our compassion for each other, they want us to build walls to separate us. This strategy allows them to take advantage of us all. As Suzy Kassem wrote

When two brothers are busy fighting, an evil man can easily attack and rob their poor mother.

We must strive as Americans and humans to rise above the evil that seeks to divide us.  We must stand together and keep moving forward as a society. We must marginalize those who refuse to embrace diversity. For in unifying one voice into many voices we will be able to change the despair of today into the promise of tomorrow and from that we all will be better.
