It has been said that what is genuinely mine can never be taken from me. Nothing could be more true than this when applied to your faith in the Lord.
Evil never announces itself as evil it comes with many faces but has only one goal, to try and tempt you with earthly wealth and power. But what evil has never accepted is that if you genuinely believe in the Lord and commit your life to Him no matter what it promises you it can never take away from your faith in the Lord. Because each day I am reminded of all the blessings that as a child of the Lord He offers me every day and for that I walk in gratitude and while in times of weakness my faith may waiver it can never be taken away from me.
I do not worry about the pursuit of earthly riches.
I do not fret about my status in life.
I have cast away my fears of failure.
I do not allow self doubt to consume me.
I have been relieved of all my worry.
What if I told you all of this is because:
I give my heart and soul unconditionally to the Lord.
I believe that through my faith the Lord forgives me of my sin and loves me unconditionally in return.
I am strengthened in the knowledge that I do not walk alone on this journey. That He is guiding me and protecting me each step of the way.
I believe that with the Lord all things are possible.
I am emboldened in the knowledge that through my prayers, praise and faith in Him. The Lord will rain down blessings upon me.
What if I told you that by setting aside your pride and allowing the spirit of the Lord to consume you that you too could be freed of self doubt, worry and the pursuit of earthly riches. Would you? Could you?
In our pursuit of earthly wealth and power it is often easy to fall into the company of and work in partnership with those whose intentions are far from righteous.
Evil rarely presents itself as evil. Evil never sleeps constantly tempting us, masquerading as good by falsely communicating to us its intention to work in our favor. It blinds us to the evidence that in our association with it we are slowly being stripped of our compassion for our fellow man and are more than willing to take advantage of, subjugate and even kill each other to advance our personal agenda. It corrupts us into pitting ourselves against each other through the exploitation of inherent fears and prejudices that reside in each of us. It persuades us to create division in order to protect our own power and wealth. As our association with evil advances our cachet in society and swells our bank accounts the easier it is for our faith to waiver and our relationship with the Lord to widen.
Avoiding this temptation is not easy. We are after all only human and to be humans is to be inherently flawed. Left alone history has shown us of our willingness to sin when we believe that sin would benefit our own lot in life. We even have used our so called “religious” beliefs as an excuse to commit one of the most heinous of sins by waging war against and taking the lives of fellow humans who beliefs differ from ours.
How do we avoid this? It is only through the Lord that we are able to temper our innate desire to sin. Like with our physical bodies we must commit to an exercise program to strengthen our faith. Through daily prayer, praise and conversations with the Lord our spirituality grows. We come to understand that no amount of wealth and power here on the Earth can compare to the eternal existence that awaits us in the Lord’s paradise. It is through our strengthened spirituality that we are guided to the path of righteousness and blessed with the courage required to rebuke evil. It through our spirituality that we are able to recognize that we are weak and it is ok to ask the Lord for help in overcoming our desire to sin. It is our faith that enables us to see that spiritual riches are far greater than physical ones. It is only when embrace these concepts and give our lives to the Lord will we truly become one with the Lord and reap all the blessings that association will rain down upon us.
I recently asked a friend what was the secret to their success? They replied that they were unafraid to walk the path of the unknown. Many fear that path and avoid it but often at the end of that path there is an abundance of opportunities. That may be the case I replied but walking the path of the unknown is fraught with risk. While there may be opportunity to advance waiting at the end there is just as much chance that there will be perils that when encountered will set you back. This is true my friend replied but I have faith in the Lord and as such I have cast away my worry and I step fearlessly onto the path knowing that He will guide me and bless me with the courage to face and the strength to overcome any dangers that I may encounter along the way. You see they continued with faith I know that the path may be that of the unknown to me but I am not walking that path alone I am being protected and guided by the Lord and with Him there is nothing to fear and all things are possible.
As I awake today I give praise to the Lord for yet another beautiful day and make no mistake each day we are blessed with the ability to walk upon this amazing planet we call Earth is a beautiful day.
Have you ever wondered how our existence came to be? How we have evolved, our planet formed, the universe sprang out of nothingness? I have almost every day and while I do not have the evidence of those who believe that our universe’s existence is simply a matter of science, nor do I dispute what it science has taught us about the universe. I always come back to the question. What was there before that?
The universe started with a Big Bang. Alright I’m buying that is probably true. But what was there before the universe exploded out of a incredibly hot, infinitely dense speck of matter? What was there before there was anything? Who or what set the whole thing in motion? Scientists will continue to theorize that question looking for the answer in some sort of tangible evidence. For those of us with faith there is no need to look for tangible evidence for we realize the evidence is now and has always been all around us. We recognize that the world on which walk on, the universe that world exists in and our very own existence is simply too perfect to be explained away as the result of a set of unknown circumstances which happened in such a fashion that we were created. We accept that such a complex and beautiful existence could only be conceived by a higher power and that higher power is the Lord.
Our faith is a love for the Lord. A love so strong that when others question our faith, when evil tempts us to abandon it, when science mocks it, we do not turn our back on it and let it wither away. Rather we are energized to embrace it, to strengthen it. It is through our faith that we acknowledge that it is the Lord’s grand design that put everything in motion. That it is only through the Lord’s blessings that we have the ability to use science to answer many of our questions about the universe. It is our faith that tells us that when there was “nothing” there was everything because there was the Lord.
Each day I awake anxious to continue my conversation with you, to thank you for the chance to walk another day upon the Earth. I am encouraged in the belief that no matter where the day shall take me I never walk alone. Each day my life is little more enriched by the knowledge you are my savior and my soul burns with the light of a thousand lights knowing that because of my faith in you and your love for me nothing is impossible. I endeavor to let nothing or no one come between me and my faith. I am reassured in the belief that as I continue to give you praise and strengthen my faith in you nothing can diminish your love for me. I revel in the knowledge that I need not worry about earthly problems because you help carry my load and in your ultimate wisdom will bestow on to me the strength and courage to overcome. I am fortunate enough to have found you for you are truly my best friend and my strongest ally and it is for that reason that I am truly blessed.
