The Day America Died

We were too busy fighting among ourselves to notice what was happening. A nation divided where the country took a back seat to party. Corruption carried out in plain sight, and a blind eye turned to it in the name of a party. Division and hate among racial, ethnic, and religious lines became the mantra of the powerful and was used as a weapon to turn and divide us against each other. It was too easy; we were simply pawns to be moved around the board and casually sacrificed when needed to protect the elite’s power and money.
Blinded by their lust for greed and power, they didn’t see that while they were playing us, they were being played. Outsiders used social media to control the narrative; then, they used that narrative to corrupt our political system. Our leaders profited and gained power because of these actions and chose to look the other way. Individuals who tried to shine a light on what was happening had their patriotism questioned. They were branded as traitors and shouted down by the masses whose perception of reality had been manipulated through the false and misleading reporting from certain “news” networks and larger than life personalities. Networks and personalities were all too happy to do so to ensure their ratings stayed high and their pockets remained fat.
At the same time, our global influence began to erode. Russia became the leading voice in the Middle East. China and North Korea started to exert control of the whole of Asia. Seizing on growing discontent in many South and Central American countries, Russia and China used their economic resources to back revolutions that overthrew governments and installed governments friendly to them, thus gaining a strategic advantage in the western hemisphere.
America and Europe were besieged by terrorist attacks launched from South America, the Middle East, and Asia. Our ability to track down the organizations responsible is extremely compromised. Sending troops into those regions would have spread us too thin and vulnerable to the Russian, China, North Korea alliance. Oil production was disrupted, and our international trade was virtually halted, leaving us reeling economically. As our economy grew weaker and we became more fearful of the next terror attack, we did not bond together; just the opposite, we became more divided. Pointing fingers at each other and fighting over our dwindling resources.
It was amid such chaos that we could only stand by and watch as Russia rolled into Eastern Europe; China into India and Pakistan; North Korea into South Korea and Japan; each daring us to retaliate. The thought of a nuclear strike was floated but was never carried out with the understanding that it was a line we could never come back from. A couple of years went by, and our situation grew worst, and then the inevitable happened; that day, most of us feared but right up until it happened didn’t think it was possible. Russian troops invaded from the north through Alaska and Canada and from the south with the help of their new South and Central American allies. It was over in a blink of an eye; we barely put up a fight. The day the red, white, and blue was replaced up top the White House with the white, blue, and red of the Russian flag is etched in the minds of those who were around to witness it, and to this day, it remains the darkest and saddest day in the history of the former United States of America.
Abraham Lincoln’s prophecy had come true “If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time or die by suicide.”.

Open Question to the GOP

Republicans
What if I told you that many believe what you do politically and, given the opportunity, could effectively lead your party.
What if I told you those many have dignity. That they would not put you in a position where you had to cast aside your dignity and morals by standing in front of Americans trying to spin a host of lies and corruption.
What if I told you those many are not racist and would work to unite Americans instead of dividing it? That they would not belittle the American intelligence community. Would work with our allies instead of insulting them and not be seen as Putin’s puppet. Would restore America’s role as the leader of the free world and be respected by the global community instead of laughed at.
Could you break your ties with the deceitful, corrupt, divisive, lying leader you have now and allow those many to restore the luster to your party that deep down you know is being marred by your current leader?
Would you?

White Power? It’s 2020 right and the President is promoting white power

My political views are no secret, but this is not political this is deeply personal.
The President of the United States of America just proudly posted a video of Trump supporters screaming White Power.
Again, the President of the United States of America just proudly posted a video of Trump supporters screaming White Power.
My United States of America!
Despite being marginalized, terrorized, and killed simply because of their skin color, the country, my ancestors have defended in war. Without their contributions, this country would not be nearly what it is today.
This should convince every person, and I mean every single person of color, to register and vote for Biden as well as any member of the GOP who enable him. It’s now it’s at the point if you’re not a person of color and you tell me you support him or remain silent on the issue, I have to assume you, too, are racist.
Too many people of color have suffered.
Too many people of color have been unjustly treated.
Too many people of color have been terrorized and KILLED by people screaming those same words!
SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION!

Destroyed from within. How Trump and the GOP are eroding our democracy

Robert Muller a registered Republican and former Marine Corps officer during the Vietnam War who receiving a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart. A man appointed to positions by both Republican and Democratic presidents George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.  Seemingly the definition of a true blood American frets his findings that the Trump’s campaign openly accepting Russian assistance would prove to be a new norm and that Russian interference in our democratic elections is happening right now.

Meanwhile a President, who used suspect medical deferments to avoid service to our country, attacked the character of Gold Star family members and made light of Vietnam war hero John McCain’s service record and sacrifice by saying “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” refuses to admit Russian interference is a problem or even occurred and the GOP Congress men and women, who like sheep go along with his madness afraid of how it may impact their new election rather than how it impacts the country block four election security bills all since Muller’s dire warning.

Making matters more laughable, if it wasn’t such a threat to American democracy, Trump has the audacity to say the Russian investigation was treason.  Never mind the fact that the investigation has yielded 199 criminal counts against 37 people and entities of which 7 have already pleaded guilty and 5 have been sentenced to prison but according to our President this investigation was treason. Treason? It appears to me the real crime against American democracy is the decision by the President and the GOP to continue to let this type of interference go on.

Meanwhile Americans for the most part yawn more interested in the results of the Bachelor than the protection of our democracy from a foreign power and Russian President Putin laughs as he pull the strings of our elections like a puppeteer pulls the string of a puppet.

Sadly, the words of great 16th President Abraham Lincoln come closer to fruition

Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! — All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reaches us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.

An Open Message to GOP Leadership

An open message to Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and other GOP leaders, we may not agree on much, but deep down, I bet you are as horrified as I am by President Trump’s response to Charlottesville. I bet you are embarrassed at the stain this man is leaving on your party. I know you gave lip service by INDIRECTLY denouncing some of his remarks via Twitter, but I bet you know you didn’t even come close to saying what needed to be said and saying it in front of a camera, not via Twitter. I will never totally agree with your legislative agenda, but in a democracy to the winner goes the spoils, and if you hold power, you have every right to push your agenda. But I assume you are smart enough to know that agenda can not include pushing hate and bigotry. Nor can it include giving aid and comfort to White Supremacists and Neo-Nazis. It is time you stood up and took your party back from Donald Trump. Do not be afraid to lose the support of whatever percentage of his base believes his response to and the actions of hate groups was alright. These groups and this President do not represent the best of America; they represent the worst. You can not keep America great, not make it great again because let’s face it, that slogan was created to send a message seeped in racism if you choose to stand idly by knowing what you see is wrong but doing nothing to stop it.
