Right Now!

Tomorrow is too late

Yesterday is gone

LIFE IS RIGHT NOW. –

It’s staring you right in the face

It’s not going to stop for you

It will pass you right by

Stop waiting

Get up

Move forward

Take hold of your destiny

Make your dreams a reality

DO IT AND DO IT RIGHT NOW

Live Among The Stars

Keep moving forward. Do not shy away from obstacles in your path; instead, meet them head-on and overcome them. Tell those that doubt you to look into your eyes and try and find fear or self-doubt because it does not exist within you. Push yourself until you reach your limits, and when you do, run right past them, exceed them and not only reach for the stars but live among them.

So What

They say they don’t believe in you, so what

They say you can’t do it, so what

They say you aren’t smart enough, so what

They say you aren’t strong enough, so what

They say you aren’t imaginative enough, so what

They say you tried and failed before, so what

They say no one has ever done it before, so what

They say only a fool would try and do it, so what

You say so what because

You know who you are

You know what you’re capable of

You know you’re strong enough

You know you’re smart enough

You know no one has ever done it, but you don’t care because you aren’t like everyone else

You know you are special, you were born to be great, and no one is going to stop you from reaching your full potential

So let them go ahead and doubt you, so what

Don’t overthink it

Don’t overthink it

Don’t look for reasons it can’t be done?

Don’t worry about failing?

Don’t ask yourself, is this the right thing to do?

Follow your heart

Believe in yourself

If you fall, dust yourself off and go back to work

It’s your life, your destiny; grab hold of it and let your passion be your roadmap to success.

Tell Me Why?

Tell me why?

Why do you doubt yourself?

Why do you believe you can not soar with eagles?

Is it because you’re afraid to try something new?

Is it because others say you can’t do it?

Is it because you are afraid of failing?

Is it because you tried before and failed?

Do you even know, or do you just accept that you can’t do it?

Greatness is never just handed to someone. The truly great learn from their failures and forge ahead. They do allow themselves to be discouraged; they pay no attention to those who are quick to point to their failure as a reason to give up hope. They are not afraid to get back up and look for a new way to succeed because they believe that they have it within themselves to achieve anything that they put their minds to. With each lesson learned, they add another rung to the ladder, a ladder that eventually will take them to their desire destination. A ladder that will lead them to a place where eagles soar.

So I ask again tell me why you can’t soar as well?

No One Can Take Your Dreams

No one can take from you what is truly yours unless you allow them, which applies to your dreams. Too often in life, we let others define who we are and what we can achieve. Carole Mosley-Braun so pointedly said, “Defining myself, as opposed to being defined by others, is one of the most difficult challenges I face.” Yet, it is a challenge we must rise to if we are to reach our full potential. No one knows what is inside us, the desire to be great. It is not uncommon that those that tell us we can’t are themselves afraid of branching out beyond their comfort zone. Then, out of jealousy, some are frightened that you will reach your potential and leave them behind. We can not allow ourselves to be influenced by their negativity; it may even be necessary to assess should these people even be part of our life. Not everyone is meant the path with you. There will be times as you walk that path, you’ll stumble and fail. When that happens, you need people who believe in you and offer you encouragement to get back up and keep moving toward your dreams. Not someone who doubts you and is quick to tell you that you’ll never do it, you know you can, but surrounding yourself with negativity can cause doubt to creep in, and the slightest bit of doubt may be enough to prevent you from achieving your dreams.

You Were Too Busy

You never saw me. Oh, you saw the color of my skin, but you never saw me.
How could you?
When I walked into the store, you were too busy following me around.
When I sat down at my desk, you were too busy wondering how I got into this school.
When I moved into my office, you were too busy thinking I was just another affirmative action hire.
When I moved into my home, you were too busy wondering if the property value would go down.
But what you didn’t see is while you were too busy to see me, I was too busy to see you either.
Not because of the color of your skin.
That was of no importance to me,
Because I know you have the system rigged against me
I was too busy studying and working twice as hard as you.
I was too busy finishing in the top 10% of my high school class.
I was too busy deciding what university was worthy of me accepting their full academic scholarship.
I was too busy graduating from that university summa cum laude.
I was too busy upon graduation shifting through my countless job offers.
I was too busy purchasing my home because that full academic scholarship I got meant I didn’t have all that student debt you did.
So since you can’t see me let me tell you who I am.
I’m that person who will never fake who I am to make you feel comfortable,
who has no desire to prove my worth to you,
who will never apologize for the hue of my skin.
So, you keep busy looking at my beautiful bronze skin
or
get with the times and see me for who I am.
Either way, I’m going to keep soaring.
