Choice is an illusion

In the Matrix Morpheous tells the Merovingian Everything begins with a choice. To which he responds: No, wrong. Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without.

When it comes to those who have made the vaccine some sort of political statement they often say this is America I’m free and I have the choice to do with my body what I chose to do. But the reality is they have been told by those in power that they should not take the vaccine, don’t be a sheep, and follow the crowd they are told. They have been duped into believing that they are making a choice not to be vaccinated when in reality it is those in power who have chosen for them and like sheep they follow along.

Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without.

With Freedom comes Responsibility

I’m an American; who the hell does Joe Biden think he is mandating anything on my freedoms?

REALLY?

I’m a Father or a mother; who the hell do you think you are for putting my child under 12 in danger of contracting this life-threatening virus because you refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated.

I’m a son or a daughter; who the hell do you think you are for making it impossible for my elderly parent to receive the emergency medical care they need because the hospitals are at total capacity with Covid cases because you refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated.

I’m a health care provider; who the hell do you think you are for causing me undue stress and nightmares because I have a front-row to countless unneeded deaths due to Covid because you refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated.

I’m a person with a treatable medical condition; as long as I can get access to an ICU bed, who the hell do you think you are for taking that bed because you have Covid because you refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated.

Don’t tell me about your freedoms as has been said People love freedom – but nobody wants responsibility. And they come together, they are inseparable. – Rajneesh

If You…You Might

If you believe it is wrong to create a safety net, so no child goes without proper medical care, goes to sleep hungry, or without a roof over their head, but you want to ban abortion, you might want to stop talking out both sides of your ass.

If you told everyone you don’t have to wear a mask because this is America and it’s my body, my choice. But you want to tell a woman what she can or cannot do with her body, you might want to shut the hell up.

If you think it’s a bigger deal that President Biden tripped going up the stairs of airforce one than Trump mishandling a pandemic that has killed half a million; let that sink in..a half a million Americans, you might be a special kind of stupid.

What has become of our country?

What has become of our country?

In a country where so many are unconcerned with their neighbor’s health, they refuse to do something as simple as wear a mask.

A country so fixated with guns that it can’t even pass common-sense gun control even in the aftermath of children being senselessly murdered.

A country where people complain about raising taxes to help the millions who live in poverty, are homeless, have no health insurance, or face food scarify but are willing to pay $1,100 for the new iPhone.

It is time America looks in the mirror and asks itself, is this really who we are? If the answer is yes, then I weep for us because it is just a matter of time before our violence, greed, and lack of concern for our fellow man lead to our downfall.

Ezekiel 22:30 New King James Version
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Empathy where none was given

SSo I’ve tuned into FOX today and saw how incredulous they were that not everyone showed empathy to Trump.

Let’s be clear. I hope Trump recovers from this horrible virus. Still, this is a man who has spent his entire life mocking people and showing a lack of empathy for anyone or anything that does not benefit him, including the 200,000 Americans who have lost their lives to COVID. Now FOX and others on the right want everyone to forget all of that and light a candle for him.

HMMM? The fortunate thing is that many of us on this side of the aisle are willing to wish him well, even knowing that he will return to being the morally bankrupt human he has always been when he recovers.

Those on the right should remember that it can be logically argued that empathy is not deserved for those who make the conscious decision to ignore the wrongdoings committed against segments of society and who look to mock the suffering of others for their gain. They do not deserve the sympathy, time, or resources of those they have committed wrongdoings against when they are inevitably impacted by the same wrongs they chose to ignore.

Fortunately for them, though they will often find that those who have been wronged often have the biggest of hearts and are willing to forgive; they put aside their differences and rush to help those who have turned a blind eye to their suffering.

Unfortunately, we also often find that when those who have been rescued feel safe again, they revert to the character that defines their flawed nature and once again mock and remain silent in the face of the injustices perpetrated on the very people who rescued them.

As Mr. Spock would say, it is not logical, but it is often true.

JUST ASKING

I’m praying for everyone’s recovery; like them or not, they have families, and I don’t wish this horrible virus on anyone but just wondering if this administration should be consistent. Remember when Trump tweeted this

“Why should the people and taxpayers of America be bailing out poorly run states (like “Illinois, as an example) and cities, in all cases Democrat-run and managed, when most of the other states are not looking for bailout help? I am open to discussing anything, but just asking?”

So I ask Why should the people and taxpayers of America pay the medical cost for the President, people in his administration and politicians who made consciously poor decisions to mislead Americans about the risks associated with COVID, refused to wear masks and socially distance, in all cases Republicans, when hundreds of thousands who were affected by COVID in one way or another are suffering financially are not being afforded real financial relief? I am open to being told why, but just asking?

Hate Will Destroy Us All

COVID-19 is ravaging the nation, with close to 200,000 lives lost and countless more impacted by its long-term after-effects.

Unemployment is devastating individuals economically, with close to 30 million Americans relying on unemployment benefits.

Hunger is overwhelming families, with food security affecting over 37 million U.S. households.

Homelessness impacts our most vulnerable, with 1.5 million students classified by the U.S. Department of Education as homeless because of unstable living situations.

Now more than ever, we should be banning together under the banner of brotherhood, elevating the things that bind us together, cherishing our values, helping others, and holding each one close.

Sadly, in these turbulent times, our current leadership chooses to ramp up the message of hate, devaluing the lives of people of color, setting a tone of callousness and division. A tone that will never allow us to band together to nurture this nation back to health.

As our country slowly dies in front of their eyes, those who embrace racism have just one thought, hate. It is all that has ever mattered to them since they raided our land, tore us from our families, herded us together like cattle, and sold us as slaves. And their hatred only grows as our demands to live our lives in equality and dignity grows. As Mr. Spock would say, it does not make sense to expect sense from such a mentality is not logical.
