Alien Takeover

Is it?

Do you really believe that it is yours to do as you want with it?

Do you really believe that we cannot claim it?

Because you are already here?

Does not your own history show otherwise?

I would ask you what would you call colonialism?

Is it not a foreign government or people seeking to extend or retain its authority over other people or territories?

Have not your colonizers imposed their religion, economics, and medicinal practices on the indigenous people?

Have they not done so in most cases for their own selfish interest?

Have you not expanded into areas where different animal species have thrived for years and hunted them into extinction in some cases for no other reason than sport?

Do you not feel you are justified in doing so because you have determined that you possess the superior intellect?

I would argue that when compared to your own history it is easy to appreciate that the takeover of your world by the Association of Developed Planets is in your best interest.

You have chosen to ignore the warnings from your own planet that you are doing irreversible damage to it with little or no regard.

You have chosen to overhunt what you deem lesser species instead of looking of looking to create equilibrium with them. As result you have destroyed ecosystems with little or no regard.

Our takeover will bring a halt to these and many of the other destructive practices that you humans practice. In essence we are saving you.  We do this because despite your flaws because why you are not currently worthy there are those among us who believe that you are an intriguing species who given the proper guidance can mature into one of us.

Time to get real about Climate Change

In the 1978 Superman movie Lex Luthor brilliantly played with both comic and villainous treachery by Gene Hackman hatches a plan to detonate a nuclear bomb along the San Andreas fault line causing everything west of the fault line to sink into the Pacific Ocean and increasing the value of the hundreds of acres of currently worthless desert land he owns as it becomes the new West Coast. Today some investor is buying that same worthless desert land as they patiently wait for California, along with a host of other coastal cities become new multi-million dollar water reefs as a result of climate change.

Freshman Congressperson from New York Alexandria Ocasio Cortez introduced the ambitious Green New Deal last week a four part program for moving America quickly out of crisis into a secure, sustainable future. Focusing on the plan’s Green Transition Program it calls for the elimination of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, transportation, manufacturing and construction by emphasizes massive public investment in wind and solar production, zero-emission vehicles and high-speed rail, energy-efficient buildings, and smart power grids, as well as “working collaboratively” with farmers and ranchers to move towards sustainable agriculture techniques.

Is the plan viable?

Is it cost effective?

Will it achieve the ambitious goals it sets?

These are all questions open for debate. What is not open for debate is that the Earth is warming. The last several years has seen an increasing number of droughts, intense storms, and floods.  Scientists point to climate change as “the biggest global health threat of the 21st century.”  Yet despite these dire signs from the Earth herself and warnings from the scientific community do the highest branches of our government seek to debate the Green New Deal? No, rather they look to spread misinformation about, their taking away your car, taking away your airplane flights, you’re not going to be allowed to own cows anymore.  It has become the way of politics today to paraphrase Michael Douglas as President Andrew Shepherd in the American President. We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them and whatever your particular problem is, I promise you the majority of politicians are not the least bit interested in solving it. They are interested in two things, and two things only: making you afraid of it, and telling you who’s to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections. You gather a group of middle age, middle class, middle income voters who remember with longing an easier time and you bring a snowball to the Senate floor and state that we hear the perpetual headline that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, but now the script has flipped, because it’s very very cold outside.

Whether you agree with the Green New Deal or not it should be a rallying call to get serious about climate change. To reject the climate change deniers, who are more interested with ensuring the profits keep rolling into the gas and oil industries, and to look for ways to slow, reverse or halt climate changes altogether before It is too late

Message from the Earth

Hi Humans it’s me Earth. I just wanted to remind you that I’ve been around 4.5 Billion years. I was here when there were no oceans, continents or even a moon. I was here before the dinosaurs and I was here after the dinosaurs. I have survived countless asteroids and several ice ages. Through it all I have changed but I am still here. You on the other hand have been around just a blink of an eye, roughly 200,000 years, you are no more than a child. Yet despite your youth you are the most arrogant of species to ever walk upon me. Throughout your brief history you have grown in intelligence, yet the smarter you get the less respect you show me. While that seems odd and doesn’t make any sense, it is true. You look only at the world as it is today. You have no eye toward your own future. You are consumed more by the concept of making money than keeping me safe. It is as if you have no understanding of the fact that without me in my present condition you will cease to exist and believe me that is the path you are currently headed down. Now don’t go blaming me, it is not as if I have not tried to warn you to the errors of your ways. You simply have refused to listen me. I have send you sign after sign that your actions are changing me, heating me up, destroying my forests, polluting my oceans and my air. Yet you do not listen. It’s ok because like in the past I will simply adapt to my new self and I will keep on circling my friend the sun for billions of years to come. But sadly I will no longer be able to support you. You will go the way of the dinosaur and maybe like that great species your demise will be a mystery to be solved by what ever or who ever takes your place. I take no pleasure in telling you this, in fact it saddens me, after all despite your arrogance you were a most promising of species. But in the end for all your promise you were simply to self important and quite frankly not smart enough too hear my cries when I tried to warn you.
