Carry Each Other’s Burdens

So today my horoscope said:

Dealing with the people you care for turns out to be a heavy burden. Spread the word far and wide, for it is time to set yourself free. After all, this kind of dependence ends up taking a serious toll. It’s not your job to carry someone else’s cross.

What a horrible way to think. As Christians we believe that the Lord blesses us with His love and the strength to get through the storms that we face.  He made the ultimate sacrifice when he gave unto us his son to relieve us our sin.

1 Peter 2:24:

He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Knowing this, especially during these troubling times, how could we not pay His blessings forward to our fellow man. When the burden they are facing becomes too much for them to carry alone should we not lift them up? Would we not want someone to help steady us when we are staining under the weight of our earthly troubles? Should we not we not help each other strengthen our faith when its waivers so we are reminded the Lord is working to relieve us of our angst? Have we forgotten that we are all children of the Lord and He never gives us more than we can bear and maybe it is through the compassion we show each other in difficult times that He is lessening our load? Do we not believe that He will look down upon us favorably and bless us tenfold for showing compassion to others? Remember it is not only the righteous thing to do but we are commanded to do it.

Galatians 6:2:

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ

Remember as humans none of us is immune to troubles.

Psalms 34:18 tells us:

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all

How weak and selfish are we if we are to expect the Lord to carry our burdens and believe it is not our responsibility to provide comfort and aid to others. That we look at our assistance to others as a burden to ourselves and allow them to continue to struggle, crushed under the weight of their troubles.

May the Lord give us the strength to help those in need and the foresight to never turn outback on others

The Devil – The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz

Covid

Racial Injustice

Homelessness

Hunger

Oppression

The powerful turning a blind eye to the plight of the weak

The rich profiting off the poor

We are living in troubled times and Satan is hard at work. He never sleeps, He is the hardest working man in show business.  Taunting us.  Asking us where our Lord has gone? Why has he forsaken us?  He sees this is an opportunity to swoop in and get many of us to abandon our faith and switch teams.

I know because like so many he has tried to shake my faith. He is a master at tempting us with solutions that appear to solve our problems, but those solutions come with a heavy price.  Yet, when tempted in times of trouble it is not easy to turn away from temptation, to let go of our worry and sorrow and believe that God has us. To remember that we are His children and He loves us so much He gave us his son so that in his death Jesus would set us free from eternal death. To be a seed sown for the harvest of our souls for all eternity so we could be redeemed into the family of God.

Many of us forget that no matter what we are going through in the moment it is nothing compared to the abundance of blessings that the Lord has waiting for us.  The devil knows this as well, he knows he can tempt us, make us question our faith, but he also knows that he will never, not even on his best day, have the power to shower us with the blessings that the Lord will rain down on us if we simply keep the faith and stay the course.

That’s why he’s out here with his nose in everything, working so hard to nurture the evil and doubt with-in us, to take us off our path home where the Lord awaits us.  It is in times like this He is especially active looking to take advantage of the loneliness and sorrow many us may be experiencing, having suffered through the loss of a love one or difficult times we may be going through.

But stay strong we must.  Lean on our faith and laugh at the tricks he tries to get us to question our faith. Have faith that the Lord is still walking with us. So tell the devil that he can move on and look for another soul to try and turn because he is wasting his time trying to turn yours because your soul knows that God has you and that’s all you need.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

COVID Racial unrest Homelessness Hunger Financial insecurity We are living in troubling times and for many of us are faith is being tested. Many of us openly ask, where is He? Why has He turned his back on us?  But even if our faith is shaken, we must find it within ourselves to lean on it, to remember we are His children. Created in His image and He loves us so much that he sacrificed his only Son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. He has never forsaken us before and He never will.

Joshua 1:9 ESV Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

We may not always understand the why, but we must have faith that there is a reason in all that He does

For while it may seem dark now, the dawn will soon come, and with it his eternal blessings.

Trump’s Weaponization of God and The Bible

The GOP is at it again led by the biggest, phoniest, Christian of them all Donald Trump. To be honest I’m personally offended by their weaponization of God and the Bible. As a man of faith who is on a spiritual road, with still so much to learn, their promotion of hatred toward your fellow man under the guise of Christianity is nauseating  The Bible prophesied this deception, in what Trump once claimed is his favorite Bible verse

2 Corinthians 11:14-15

14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

It also prophesied how easy it would be for him to attract followers to the bigotry, racism, and numerous other evils he spews forth without them questioning it

2 Timothy 4:3-4

3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

His gives true Christians a bad name, and we want everyone to know that Trump and his supporters do not speak for true Christian or to paraphrase Kevin Bacon’s character in A few Good men:

Don’t you dare lump me in with Trump, Pence, and their supporters just because they claim to worship the same God.
